Comic Book Movies

Comic book movies have been favorite summer blockbusters since they’ve risen in popularity over the past couple of decades. One flick, Transformers 4, will feature redesigned Autobots and Decepticons and an entirely new cast that includes Mark Walberg.

Captain America gets his second movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and you’ll see many of his fellow Avengers and members of S.H.I.E.L.D. among the cast. You’ll also get to see more of Captain America’s adjustment to the modern world throughout this highly anticipated flick.

X-Men returns to the big screen with its latest installment, X-men: Days of Future Past, another highly anticipated comic book movie all its own. The new movie follows the latest release, the well-received prequel, X-Men: First Class, and it joins together the casts from both the past and present X-Men in one sure to be successful blockbuster.

The reboot of Spiderman releases its second movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with Andrew Garfield completely committed to his role as a misunderstood superhero. The villains are perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of the new movie, particularly Jamie Foxx as Electro and Paul Giamatti as Rhino. New cast members will also be introduced, including Mary Jane Watson, Harry Osborn and his father, Norman.

Another exciting comic book movie is a new movie featuring everyone’s favorite superhero reptilians, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Now rebooted with today’s technology, the movie should be a thrilling remake of the classic that will bring out the inner child in every viewer who grew up with the cartoons and comics.

And finally, a new comic book series hits the movie scene, Guardians of the Galaxy. A touch of mystery surrounds the film, but it is set in space with a cast of new characters and is presumed to set the stage for The Avengers 2 and the villain Thanos.

Other Action Movies

Tom Cruise has signed on for another sci-fi movie, All You Need Is Kill, after his 2012 release, Oblivion, in which he saved a planet Earth destroyed in the future. In this movie, the main character dies on the battlefield but is then reborn to relive the battle and his death again and again. At one point, his latest iteration changes, and he sees a new hope for either his escape or final death. This one should be another thrilling flick from the beloved Tom Cruise.

Godzilla returns to the big screen with an all new cast and is deemed to be “THE monster” by some reviewers. It’ll be exciting to see where they take this one following all the movie attempts of the past. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes also brings back another favorite series in a whole new light.
